I love this place. We've been going for many years and it's always consistent, delicious food and friendly staff.

Been going here nearly 30 years. It is hands down my favorite vietnamese restaurant in Canada. The food is very full bodied and boldly flavorful. The atmosphere is very modest. Family owned a few generations. They dont skimp on food. Worth every penny. Try the calamari on for something different! Everything here is good.

An Edmonton treasure. Excellent food, good portions, excellent service. Have been coming here for over 16 years and I've never had a bad experience. Vermicelli bowls are always good, lettuce wraps are fresh, and kim-chi is spicy! I often bring work clients here from out of town and they're always impressed.

Consistently delicious. Their ginger beer and spring rolls are like no other restaurant in Edmonton. I crave this place and for good reason. If you have never eaten here then it is time for you to try it. There is plenty of free parking behind the restaurant. If you are a fan of coffee, then order the iced vietnamese coffee when you order your meal. It takes a while to drip through. It is poured over sweetened condensed milk and lots of ice...so good!

I love this place. I've been going there since I first moved to Edmonton, as a kid, 22 years ago. The food is delicious and always done perfectly.

I have been coming to this hidden little gem in Chinatown for years and it never disappoints. Food is always consistent and fairly big portion size. The spring rolls here is the major winner along with the ginger beef both which are highly recommended. Be sure to check it out if your in the area you won't be disappointed.

Unfortunately this establishment has gone downhill. While the service was very good, the same cannot be said for the food or the cleanliness of the place in general.Calamari was old, tough, and rubbery. The meat in the Vietnamese noodle bowl was also tough and seemed overcooked. The chicken soup had pressed deli chicken in it and it felt like it was not fresh. We used to really enjoy going here but I can't say we will ever be going back.

This is one of the oldest Vietnamese restaurants in the Chinatown district and is still being operated by the original owner/family. Their noodles/soup still maintain the initial good quality. I particularly enjoy their version of Bun Bo Hue(Central Vietnamese noodles) and their spring rolls which use delicious rice paper wrappers

Food was good, I'd definitely go back, and I do.like their spring rolls which they told me are homemade. The wrap is not your typical spring roll wrap from most restaurants.

This is our favourite restaurant. They even catered our wedding. The family is great and very friendly, and the food is fantastic. By far the best spring rolls I've ever had, and they're gluten free. So good.

My food looked absolutely delicious and some elements were. I enjoyed the shrimp skewer. There were a couple issues - the beef was very hard with the consistency of a pork puff so that was strange and the peanut dipping sauce was a bit watery. The other ratings are excellent so I’m not sure what happened during my experience. The service was good.

Came here for lunch on Monday with the family while visiting the Royal Alberta Museum which is really close by. Decor is like any other Vietnamese restaurant but it's the food that sets it apart. Wasn't too busy and we were seated right away.Wife ordered rare beef with tendons noodle soup to share with our daughter. That was better and they finished everything.

Even though I've been eating at the Golden Bird for close to 15 years, someone is always there that has been going longer! This is an institution in Vietnamese dining in Edmonton. Everyone has their "favorite place" but I promise you nobody in Edmonton makes a better spring roll!! I dare you to find one better! Thank you Golden Bird for always making me feel at home and for serving up some great food.

Been a patron of this place for 10years and was welcomed like family since my first visit. My kids now make themselves right at home when we stop by our favourite restaurant north of the river. The servings are huge and the food delicious. A real gem.

Best spring rolls here. Totally unlike any other place. Must have!Another must have is the lemongrass beef vermicelli. Pour the whole bowl of fish sauce in and enjoy!These 2 dishes are head and shoulders above any other restaurant's.

This place is always a pleasure. Food is fantastic and service is uncomparable.

Really good bun and Pho. The meats and sides are tasty. I recommend the 5 star vermicelli bowl. And calamari. The owners are super friendly and they'll make sure you are served and have a great experience at the restaurant.

We had Spring rolls and calamari to start. We added chicken satay (my favorite and I don't even like chicken) Beef and broccoli, ginger beef, beef and greens, shrimp and veg, pork/shrimp vermicelli bowl, hot pho. Maybe there was something else but we devoured it all so quickly.

Great food. Same people running the place for a long time. Price has gone up on dishes since was there last. Avg $14 a dish

We had the Pho special #22. It was really good. But I felt the portion was small. There was only one size to choose from
